From May 19^th to May 26^th, a delegation of Huaqiao University (HQU) led by Bi Mingqiang, HQU Vice Secretary of the Party Committee & Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection, inspected HQU Thailand Office and Malaysia Office, and visited the local overseas Chinese associations, middle schools, the board members of HQU and alumni. The delegation also listened to the work report from HQU Thailand Office and HQU Malaysia Office including the enrollment, the education of Chinese language and culture, the contact with the board members and alumni, and financial and asset management, etc.

During the stay in Thailand, the delegation paid a visit to the board member Mr. Zhang Yongqing, Dr. Vichit Lolurlert and Mr. Paisal Puechmonkol, Vice President of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association (TCCEA) and Vice Minister for the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand. They also had a talk with HQU alumni in Thailand, Chinese teachers in Confucius Institute at Kasetsart University, Thailand, and leaders from Ratwinit Bangkaeo School, under the Paronage of His Majesty the King.

At Malaysia, the delegation visited the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Kuching, Malaysia and was received by Counsellor Liu Dongyuan and First Secretary Wang Zhimin from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia, and Consul General Cheng Guangzhong, Deputy Consul General Zhang Yang and Consul Jiang Ying from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Kuching.

The delegation also visited the Malaysia Fujian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MFCCI), Kuching Chung Hua Middle School Alumni Association, the Federation of Malaysia Chinese Guilds Association (FEMACGA) and the Association of Graduates from Universities and Colleges of China, Malaysia. During their visit, Bi signed a Letter of Intent with the MFCCI on the communication and cooperation of enrollment publicity, culture and education, research collaboration and personnel cultivation.
