Huaqiao University has undertaken 1,291 government-funded projects, including those supported by the National Program on Key Basic Research Projects, the National Eleventh-Five Year Research Program, the National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar, the Major Program of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Key Program of NSFC, the Key Program for the Promotion of Science and Technology Cooperation on Both Sides of Taiwan Straits by NSFC, the Special Program of International Cooperation and Exchanges NSFC, the Program of China-APEC Foundation and the Special Science and Research Program of Public Welfare Sectors in State Oceanic Administration, and 676 non-government-funded projects. In recent years, the total funding for all kinds of research projects in the university has exceeded 426.42 million CNY.
