Overseas Chinese, numbering over 60 million, have consistently upheld the fine tradition of valuing education and preserving national culture. They serve as a bridge between China and the world, playing a crucial role in promoting traditional Chinese culture and fostering exchanges. The overseas Chinese language and culture education, independently established by overseas Chinese, is known as the “Root Project”, “Hope Project” and “Pro-people Project” within the overseas Chinese community. These educational institutions have become vital platform for spreading Chinese culture and enhancing cultural exchanges. With the five thousand years of Chinese civilization and dynamic process of China’s development, it is hoped that Chinese language teachers worldwide will maintain their cultural confidence, thoroughly explain China’s perspective on civilization, development and global affairs, and help people all over the world understand a genuine, multidimensional, and comprehensive view of China. This effort aims to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, strengthen people-to-people connections, and contribute significantly to building a global community with a shared future.

The conference, themed “Facilitating High-Quality Development of Chinese Language and Culture Education and Promoting Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations”, was a joint effort by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. It was a global event, with 600 representatives from nearly 70 countries and regions participating.
