On the afternoon of May 21st, Dr. Baowen Li was appointed Honorary Professor at Huaqiao University (HQU) and a member of International Academic Committee of the Institute of Systems Science, HQU.
He is one of the pioneers in an emerging field – Phononics and an expert on thermal transport in nanoscale. He has authored and co-authored more than 330 papers including 2 in Rev. Mod Physics and 30 in Phys. Rev. Lett, with H-index of 74 and total citation > 18,000. He has given over 220 plenary, keynote, and invited talks/seminars. He is a selected member of Academia Europaea (2017), APS fellow (2013), and recipient of numerous awards including 2005 National Science Award, Singapore, 2005 OCPA's (International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers) Asia Achievement Award, 2014/2015 Springer Professorship at the University of California, Berkeley, and 2017 Brillouin Medal from International Phononics Society.
The same day, Li delivered a popular science lecture at the university on Thermal Diode / Thermal Transistor and Thermal Metamaterials: the Art Controlling Heat Flow.
