From March 30th to 31st, the 49th IKCEST Training Program for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development & Huaqiao University's 2nd Special Training Program on "Silk Road Strategies" for International Students was co-hosted by Huaqiao University (HQU) and Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Altogether 66 HQU students from 14 countries and regions, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and Angola, attended the training program.
This program was sponsored by the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) under the Auspices of UNESCO, and jointly hosted by XJTU, HQU and IKCEST Silk Road Training Base.
During the two-day training, the courses including Peking Opera, Tai Chi Culture, History of Sino-Foreign Communication and Tui Na unfold the profound traditional Chinese culture to the students, while other courses, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data, bring the most cutting-edge knowledge in these subjects to the students and broaden their international vision to serve the construction of the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI).
The special training for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development is guided by IKCEST affiliated by Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and under the Auspices of UNESCO, which has held 48 special training programs in the fields of Big Data, medicine, IoT, AI and so on. This program is the second cooperation and exchange between universities in the “Silk Road Overland” and the "Maritime Silk Road" areas.
