Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission has released the Reply to 2018 National Engineering Research Center, among which the National Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Manufacturing Technology of Brittle Material Products by Huaqiao University (HQU) is listed. It has become the first National Science and Technology Innovation Platform for HQU.

The National Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Manufacturing Technology of Brittle Material Products operates under the Institute of Manufacturing Engineering and the College of Mechanical and Engineering Automation of HQU, with Professor Xu Xipeng, President of HQU, doctoral supervisor and winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars as its director. Based on the characteristic industries of Fujian Province and the needs of national development, the center focuses on key common technologies of intelligent manufacturing of brittle materials to provide innovative theoretical basis and technological support for the core competitiveness and sustainable development of related industries in the manufacture of brittle material products.
