On the morning of January 17th, Zeng Lu, Vice President of Huaqiao University (HQU) met with the delegation from University of Alberta (UA), Canada, led by Michael MacGregor, Vice-Provost.
Zeng Lu warmly welcomed the delegation's visit and gave a brief introduction of HQU. He said that every year more than one thousand students of HQU are involved in international exchange programs and a considerable amount of them have expressed their willingness to study abroad. Zeng mentioned that HQU would like to build partnerships and cooperation with UA. Michael MacGregor pointed out that this visit will further the mutual understanding between UA and HQU. He expected that the two universities will promote their cooperation, with the exchanges of teachers and students and relevant fields as the starting point.
International exchanges and professional cooperation were also discussed. Leaders from HQU's Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, International School and College of Computer Science and Technology also attended the meeting.
The delegation also had a talk with leaders from related offices and researchers of HQU, and paid a visit to Quanzhou campus and HQU History Museum.
