On the morning of December 7^th, at the Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall, Huaqiao University (HQU) launched its 9^th Sino-American Cooperation on Higher Education and Professional Development 121 Program. Guests attending the meeting included Liz Grobsmith, Senior Adviser to the President for Strategic and International Initiatives at Northern Arizona University (NAU), Wang Feng, Director of Asia Program of Center for International Education (CIE) at NAU, Darla Dmoke-Damonte, Vice-President of Coastal Carolina University, Yin Kai, Director of China Center for International Education Exchange (CCIEE) of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) under the Ministry of Education of China, and Wang Ying and Wu Qin, respectively Director and Executive Director of the CHEPD 121 Program. Also present were HQU Vice President Zeng Lu, heads from relevant colleges and offices, and all the class of 2022 from the Sino-American CHEPD 121 Program. An unveiling ceremony was also held for the CCIEE Teacher Training Base of the Teacher Development Center of HQU.

       On the morning of December 8^th, excellent alumni graduating from the 121 Program were invited to a special event My Way to Study Abroad held at the multi-functional conference hall of Yang Sichun Science Building. They shared their experience with the audience and answered questions for students enrolled in the same program.

        HQU joined the Sino-American CHEPD 121 Program in 2010. The past 8 years have seen a total of 304 enrollees study in American universities, 89 of which have already graduated. Presently, 140 HQU students enrolled in the program are pursuing their study in the United States.
