China University Marathon Series (CUMS) & 2018 Huaqiao University (HQU) Sunny Running Race kicked off at Xiamen campus on the afternoon of December 2nd. Nearly 2,400 students, faculties and alumni participated in this event. Together, they finished the marathon covering a total distance of 4.5 kilometers from school gateway to the terminal point, via many landmarks of HQU, such as College of Music and Dance, LED display screen, the Comprehensive Hall, Zijing Canteens, Architecture Lab Building, Civil Engineering Lab Building and Bailu Lake.
Quite a number of HQU students and faculties were attracted to take part in the race, along with over 260 alumni. To ensure its smoothness and security, the organizing committee arranged for numerous volunteers, referees and medical personnel all along the way to provide services for the runners, such as giving directions, drink supplies and medical assistance, aiming to offer participants more complete services.
With a difference from traditional campus running races, CUMS endeavors to introduce professional Marathon services into campus, and is committed to providing university running enthusiasts with professional event services in terms of security arrangements, enrollment and timing, supplies during the race and finisher souvenir. CUMS has previously been held in universities like Zhongshan University and Wuhan University.
