HQU Microfilm Won the 8th Academy Award of Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art

      The 8th Academy Award of Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art drew to its end in Guangzhou on November 17th, 2018. The microfilm, Mother's Day Gift, co-produced by Youth League Committee and School of Journalism and Communication, Huaqiao University (HQU), has won the 3rd prize.

      Mother's Day Gift is the first commonweal microfilm themed with blood donation and shot by professional motion picture cameras. Produced mainly by HQU teachers and students from School of Journalism and Communication and collaborators from School of Arts and Business School, this film presents the vigorous and positive image of contemporary university students, lavished praises in many a microfilm competition. It has made a breakthrough in the creation of micro scripts by School of Journalism and Communication.  

      2018 Academy Award, jointly hosted by Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art (CCAVA) and Guangzhou University, has received 454 pieces of works from the whole nation, among which 45 awards of four categories has at last been granted to university groups and social groups.

      The Academy Award, established by Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art whose predecessor was Chinese Collegial Association for Film initiated by Xia Yan in 1983, works as a national platform for ideology, academics and professional evaluations and to inspire college teachers and students as well as public professionals to create more visual art of high-quality. As a professional award set-up by the National Level Association, the Academy Award differs from other government or social awards all the way. The adoption of academic terms from visual art as its award names and professional evaluations of works make itself superior, authoritative, academic, professional and cutting-edge, which therefore has gained itself a nation renowned reputation throughout colleges and universities as well as in film and television academia.
