November 4^th, at the 58^th anniversary of the founding of Huaqiao University, 31 couples returned to their alma mater for a collective wedding ceremony at Liao Chengzhi Square of Quanzhou campus. At the place filled with memories, they shared their happy moments with teachers and fellow classmates.

      Decorated with flowers, balloons and pink carpet, the venue was brimming with romance. The newlyweds, dressed up and hand in hand, beamed with joy as they filed through a delicate flower gate and stepped onto the stage amid cheers and wishes from their families and friends. The audience also captured the moment with their phones and cameras. Some of these couples fell in love with each other in high school years; some, having graduated 12 years ago, settled down as a family of three and brought their adorable child to the ceremony; some were even going to hold their own wedding at the university after the ceremony.  

      Zeng Lu, Vice-President of HQU and of HQU General Alumni Association, made some remarks as chief witness, sincerely wishing all the couples a happy marriage. "No matter where you are, the alma mater will always be there, wishing you happiness. And you are always welcomed here."

      The white wedding gowns and finely-pressed suits added a touch of solemnity and romance to the ceremony. The bridegrooms kneeled down on one knee, presented a bridal bouquet to their sweet heart, and popped up the question. The brides then gave an affectionate and affirmative reply. As they exchanged their rings, they looked deep into each other’s eyes and made a vow. Their sweet smiles touched everyone present.

      In the cordial atmosphere, Zeng awarded each couple a love certificate. They accepted it joyfully and examined it carefully, lost in the memory of their youth.

      The 2018 HQU alumni mass wedding ceremony was then rounded off with a toast to all the leaders, guests and brides and grooms.
