On October 27^th, Liu Gong, Vice-president of Huaqiao University, attended the 1^st University Leaders Forum of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries in Macao. On behalf of HQU, he signed Macao’s Higher Education Declaration of Cooperation, which is to promote the educational cooperation and cultural exchange between universities in China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

      The forum was organized by Gabibete de Apoio ao Ensino Superior (GAES), University of Macau (UM) and University of Saint Joseph (USJ). It aimed to cooperate with Macao in building the Training Base for Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Talent as a platform for China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and explore the prospects and opportunities of higher education under the Belt and Road Initiative. Representatives from 70-plus universities and institutions of higher education of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries attended this forum.
