The 15^th FISU World University Badminton Championship was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 12^th to 22^nd. A joint team from Huaqiao University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) competed in the mixed team and singles, representing Chinese university badminton team. HQU athletes won a silver medal in group competition and two bronze medals in single competition.

    The competition, held every two years, is sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and organized by Malaysia, representing the highest level of world university badminton and drawing 150 athletes from China, Thailand, America, Germany, Australia, Malaysia and regions such as China Taipei. This is the fifth time that HQU badminton team has competed in the World University Badminton Championship on behalf of Chinese university badminton team.
