Huaqiao University (HQU) claims the joint 65th position among the universities of the Chinese Mainland in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019, released on September 27th. This is the second successive year that HQU has appeared in the Rankings.
Over 1,250 universities are listed in 2019 THE World University Rankings, 150 more than that of last year. 111 Chinese universities make the ranking, including 72 from the Chinese Mainland, 6 from Hong Kong, 1 from Macao and 32 from Taiwan.
Released by Times Higher Education, the THE World University Rankings is recognized as one of the most authoritative and influential global university rankings, together with QS World University Rankings and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). It plays a critical role in the development patterns and trends of universities from different countries. The key indicators of the Rankings include teaching (the learning environment, 30%), research (volume, income and reputation, 30%), citations (research influence, 30%), international outlook (staff, students and research, 7.5%) and industry income (knowledge transfer, 2.5%).
