On September 14th, 105 government officials from 7 countries, namely Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, UAE, Cambodia and Vietnam were granted the school badges and officially became members of HQU. They will spend the following year learning Chinese language and experiencing Chinese culture at HQU.
Putting on HQU Badges
The opening ceremony of the 14th Chinese Class for the Government Officials from the Belt and Road (B&R) Countries was held on the morning of the day. Renamed after Foreign Government Officials' Chinese Class, the class has been held for 13 years since its launch in 2005, and has trained more than 800 government officials from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Angola, Malaysia, Cambodia and Suriname.
At the opening ceremony, Royal Thai Consulate General in Xiamen donated 100,000 Thai Baht to Princess Sirindhorn Library of HQU for its upgrades, hoping it will become significant resources for HQU to study China-Thailand relations.
