On the morning of July 4^th, 38 trainees from the HQU Advanced Training Program for Talents of Maritime Silk Road Countries received certificates from school leaders and guests, successfully completing their studies.

      Hosted by Huaqiao University, it was a maritime-silk-road-oriented program which recruited high-end talents such as government officials, business elites, media workers, and academics. It undertook training of Chinese language and culture, and lectures on Belt and Road and FTZ/PFTZ, China & World Economy, China’s Diplomatic Strategy, etc., aiming to improve their Chinese language proficiency and understanding of Chinese culture and society and the Belt and Road Initiative, and boost exchanges and cooperation between China and related countries in all fields.

      The one-year program was initiated in September 2017, with trainees from countries including Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Turkey and Indonesia. Apart from in-class learning, they also conducted field trips to cities and provinces such as Beijing, Fujian, Zhejiang and Xi’an, with a view to experiencing traditional Chinese culture, probing into modern China and understanding the Belt and Road Initiative and the concept of a community with shared future of mankind.
