The Maritime Silk Road Institute (MSRI) of Huaqiao University will organize the 2nd Belt and Road Unimpeded Trade Senior Seminar on Sept. 16th - 21st at Xiamen, recruiting around 35 government officials, business executives, experts and academics from Belt and Road joint construction countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Central and Eastern Europe.
The current seminar is guided by the National Development and Reform Commission of China, hosted by the Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation of China, sponsored by Tanoto Foundation, and supported by the Silk Road Think Tank Association and Center for China and Globalization. Experts and scholars from the Ministry of Commerce, China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, University of International Business and Economics, Xiamen University and Huaqiao University are invited to lecture on a series of themes concerning unimpeded trade and cooperation, including China’s Opening up to the World in the New Era and the Construction of Belt and Road, Belt and Road and FTZ/PFTZ, Asia and Pacific Trade Cooperation and Global Economic Governance, International Trade Investment: Rule, System and Trend, Global Value Chain, Intra-product Specialization and Belt and Road Investment, and China-ASEAN Trade Development and Its Problems and Prospects. Also the students will be visiting the core area of the Maritime Silk Road in Fujian, and Xiamen FTZ.
The Belt and Road Talent Training Program was formally launched in 2017, with Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Huaqiao University to organize three seminars on facilities connectivity, financial integration and unimpeded trade respectively. The MSRI of HQU held the 1st Belt and Road Unimpeded Trade Senior Seminar in Sept. 2017, attended by 34 government officials, business executives, academics from 6 Belt and Road joint construction countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and three others.
